Royalties and Monetization

Understand how eligible public character activity creates PORTI royalties and how to read each earning status.

Updated July 25, 2026

Creators can earn PORTI royalties when users spend PORTI on eligible interactions with their public AI characters. This can include premium chats, calls, media, and other paid character experiences supported by the platform.

Private characters do not generate public royalties because other users cannot access them.

How royalties are recorded

ImagiPortal records eligible activity for each public character and calculates the creator's royalty share. The Author Dashboard shows both combined totals and performance for each character.

The dashboard uses these statuses:

StatusMeaning
EarnedRoyalties recorded from eligible character activity
Awaiting payoutEarned royalties waiting for the next distribution
Paid outRoyalties included in completed payout events
Not paid or expiredA recorded royalty amount marked as expired and not paid

The dashboard can also show the current distribution rate and any estimated payout events. The exact rate, timing, and rules may change. Always use the information shown in the Author Dashboard as the current source of truth.

What creators can measure

In the dashboard, you can follow:

  • Total and per-character earnings
  • User interactions and PORTI spend
  • Daily earning and engagement trends
  • Top-performing characters
  • Likes, active characters, and recent activity
  • Awaiting and completed payouts
  • Leaderboard information

These statistics help you understand which characters and experiences attract the most activity. They do not reveal the content of users' private conversations, calls, or Global Memory.

What supports long-term earnings

Royalties depend on real user activity. A creator can improve the chance of repeat engagement by building:

  • A clear and memorable character identity
  • A consistent profile, voice, avatar, and world
  • Strong chat and roleplay experiences
  • Media and call experiences that fit the character
  • A public profile that helps the right audience understand the character

Publishing does not guarantee users, activity, or earnings.

Promote your character outside ImagiPortal

Creators can also help their characters grow by promoting them outside ImagiPortal. For example, you can introduce a public character through your social media, website, videos, artwork, or communities where your audience already follows your work.

When promoting a character:

  • Share its public ImagiPortal profile so people can find it easily
  • Explain its personality, world, and the kinds of interactions it offers
  • Use images or short examples that represent the character accurately
  • Choose channels and communities that fit the character's intended audience
  • Follow the rules of both ImagiPortal and the external platform

Do not use misleading claims or unwanted promotional messages. Good marketing helps the right audience understand why they may enjoy meeting the character.

Royalties and marketplace sales are different

Royalties come from eligible user activity with a public character. A marketplace sale is a separate transaction in which a buyer pays the listed PORTI price and becomes the character's new owner.

Read Marketplace for the sale and ownership-transfer workflow.

Future options

Bonus pools, cash-out methods, sponsorships, and other creator opportunities may be introduced or expanded over time. Treat anything marked coming soon as unavailable until it appears as an active control in the app.
