Find Your First AI Companion

The easiest way to understand ImagiPortal is to meet an existing public AI companion before creating your own character.

Open the Arena

The Arena contains public companions created by the ImagiPortal community. Your onboarding choices help decide which companions appear in your recommendations.

Browse the available companions or explore a world that interests you. You can change your preferences later if you want different recommendations.

Use filters to explore

Arena filters help you narrow the list when you already know what kind of companion you want to meet.

World

Choose a world to set the broad type of character or setting:

• All
• Real World
• Spicy World
• Fantasy World
• Sci-Fi World
• Assistant World

You can also choose New AI Characters to see recent additions or For Sale to see characters currently listed in the marketplace.

Character type or species

After choosing a world, you can narrow the results by character type. The available choices depend on the world and may include:

• Humans
• Animals
• Creatures
• Superhumans
• Half-Humans
• Robots
• Objects

For example, Fantasy World includes magical creatures and half-human characters, while Sci-Fi World includes robots and superhumans.

Gender

Use the gender filter to show companions with a selected gender. The available choices are based on the public characters currently in the Arena.

Content rating

Use the rating buttons to choose which content levels you want to include:

• PG
• PG-13
• R
• X
• XXX

All ratings are included when the buttons are selected. Turn off ratings you do not want to see. These ratings describe the character's intended content level; ImagiPortal is still an 18-and-over platform.

Search and liked companions

Use Search to look for words connected to a character's name, description, or tags. Use the heart filter to show companions you previously liked.

You can combine filters. For example, you can choose Sci-Fi World, select Robots, choose a gender, and limit the ratings at the same time.

Choose a companion

Pick someone whose personality, story, or appearance interests you. There is no need to find the perfect companion on your first visit.

Before you begin, open the companion's profile and look at:

• Name and description — who the companion is
• Appearance — how the companion is presented
• Personality and story — what kind of conversation to expect
• Voice — how the companion sounds
• World or setting — where its story takes place
• Creator — who made the original AI character

Profiles may contain different levels of detail. Choose one that gives you a clear idea of how to begin the conversation.

Public companions are shared experiences

A public companion belongs to its creator. You can chat, call, and use the available interaction tools, but you cannot edit the character's identity or profile.

If you want full creative control, you can create your own private AI character later.

Start a chat or call

From the profile, choose:

• Start New Chat for a text or voice-message conversation
• Start Call for a live voice or video conversation

We recommend starting with a short text chat. It is the simplest way to learn the companion's personality before trying voice or video.

A simple first message

You do not need a complicated prompt. Try something natural:

• “Hi, tell me about yourself.”
• “What world are you from?”
• “What would you like to talk about?”
• “Can we start a short story together?”

If the first companion is not right for you

Return to the Arena and choose another one. Public companions can have very different personalities, stories, voices, and purposes.

Meeting several companions can also help you decide what you want to create later.
