Selfies with an AI Companion

The Selfie workflow creates an image of you together with a selected AI companion. It combines your uploaded photo with the AI character's avatar and visual identity.

Selfies are created in the Generator. They do not replace your photo or change the character's main avatar.

What you need

Before generating a selfie, you need:

• An ImagiPortal account
• A public AI character or one of your own characters
• A clear portrait photo of yourself
• An avatar saved for the selected character

You can choose a public character even if you did not create it. A private character is available only to its creator.

Create a selfie

1. Open the Generator.
2. Select the Image area.
3. Open the Generator workflow menu.
4. Select Selfie with Character.
5. Choose Public Characters or My Characters.
6. Search for and select the AI companion.
7. Add your photo.
8. Optionally describe the lighting, mood, background, or selfie style.
9. Select Generate.

On mobile, you can select Make Photo to use the camera or Upload Photo to choose an existing image. On other devices, select Upload Photo.

Choose a useful personal photo

Use a clear portrait containing only one person.

For a better starting image:

• Face the camera or keep your face easy to see
• Use even lighting
• Avoid heavy filters
• Avoid sunglasses, masks, or objects covering the face
• Use a photo with a simple background when possible
• Use an image file smaller than 10 MB

You can preview the selected photo before generating. Use Replace Photo to choose another one or remove it and start again.

Choose the AI companion

The companion's avatar is used as the character reference for the selfie. Choose a character whose avatar already represents the intended appearance.

The character selection includes:

• Public Characters: characters published in the Arena
• My Characters: your own characters and available characters from your collection

If a character does not have an avatar, a selfie cannot be generated with it.

Add an optional instruction

The personal photo and selected character are required. The written instruction is optional.

Use it to guide details such as:

• Background
• Lighting
• Mood
• Camera angle
• Pose
• Occasion

For example:

A cheerful evening selfie together in front of the lights of Paris.

Keep the instruction focused on the shared scene. You do not need to describe the companion's full appearance again because the selected character already provides that information.

Photo and prompt checks

ImagiPortal checks the uploaded photo before accepting it. Photos that fail the safety check, including photos detected as containing an underage person, are blocked.

The optional written instruction is also checked before generation. Use only a photo that you have the right to upload.

If the photo is blocked, choose a different adult portrait. If a safe photo cannot be processed, try a clearer image with better lighting and only one visible person.

While the selfie is generating

After generation begins, the result appears as a pending item in the Selfie collection. The app shows progress while the request is waiting or processing.

You can continue using the app. If generation takes longer than expected, ImagiPortal can notify you when it is ready.

Find your selfies

Open the Generator's Image area and select the Selfie with character collection. This collection brings together the selfies you have created with different AI companions.

Selfies are kept separate from:

• Generic images
• Individual character-image collections
• Saved Try-On results

Work with a completed selfie

From the Selfie collection, you can:

• Open the image at a larger size
• Copy its prompt
• Download or share it
• Use it as the starting image for a video
• Delete it
• Load older selfie results

Creating or deleting a selfie does not change the AI character's profile or main avatar.

Improve the result

If the generated selfie does not look close enough to you or the companion:

1. Try a clearer personal photo.
2. Make sure only one person appears in the uploaded photo.
3. Check that the selected character has a clear and stable avatar.
4. Shorten the optional instruction.
5. Remove details that conflict with the photo or character.
6. Generate another version.

Each generation creates a new interpretation, so composition, pose, and small visual details can change.

Access and pricing

Selfie generation is a paid feature for regular users and is included with an active subscription. The app shows the current access requirement before generation.
