AI Character Lifecycle
Follow an AI character from private creation to Arena publication, audience growth, and creator royalties.

Every AI character on ImagiPortal begins as a private character. You can keep it private for your own use, or continue its journey by publishing it in the Arena.
The full lifecycle has three main stages:
- Create and use the character privately
- Submit the character for publication
- Grow a public audience and earn royalties
You decide how far the character goes. A private companion does not need to become public.
Stage 1: Create a private character
The lifecycle starts with an idea. Think about who the character is, how it should look and speak, and why someone would want to interact with it.
During creation, you can define details such as:
- Name and appearance
- Personality and way of speaking
- Backstory
- Voice
- Location, setting, or world
- Visual style
After creation, the character is private. Only you can access it.
This private stage gives you time to chat with the character, try voice or live calls, create images and videos, and check whether all parts of its identity work well together. You can change the profile and creative details without making unfinished work visible to other users.
There is no need to publish a private character. You can keep it as your personal AI companion for as long as you want.
Stage 2: Publish the character in the Arena
When the character is ready for other people, you can submit it for publication.
Before submitting, check that:
- The profile clearly explains who the character is
- The avatar and other public images are complete
- The character has a saved voice
- The personality and replies feel consistent
- The content follows ImagiPortal's public content guidelines
- You created the character and have the right to use its content
How publication works
- Open a private character that you own.
- Go to its Publishing & Marketplace information.
- Choose Submit for Review.
- Decide whether you also want to request optional intellectual property (IP) registration.
- Confirm the submission.
Submitting a character does not make it public immediately. The character remains private while the ImagiPortal team reviews it.
The review status shows what happens next:
- Pending means the character is waiting for review.
- Approved means the character can go live in the Arena.
- Rejected means changes are needed. Review the feedback, update the character, and submit it again.
After approval, the character becomes public in the Arena. Other users can discover its profile and interact with it.
Stage 3: Grow and earn
A public character can begin building an audience. People can discover it in the Arena and interact through available features such as chat, voice, live calls, images, and video.
The creator dashboard helps you follow the character's activity and performance. Eligible interactions can earn royalties in PORTI, ImagiPortal's platform credit.
Growth usually comes from continuing to improve:
- Keep the character's identity clear and consistent
- Use strong public images and profile information
- Listen to feedback from users
- Review engagement and royalty information
- Develop new stories, visuals, and experiences around the character
Publishing is not the end of the lifecycle. A public character can continue to grow as more people discover and interact with it.

You cannot edit a character while it is public. This protects the experience that users already know. If you need to make changes, unpublish the character first. It becomes private again, and you can edit it before submitting it for publication again.
Unpublishing a character
You can choose Unpublish Character to remove your character from the Arena. Other users will no longer be able to access it, and the character will return to private status.
Unpublishing does not delete the character. You can continue using and editing it privately, then submit it again when it is ready.
Optional IP registration
If the character is your original work and meets the requirements, you can request IP registration when you submit it for publication. You can also register an eligible character later, after it is public.
IP registration creates a permanent public ownership record on the DATA Network and assigns digital proof of ownership, called an ownership NFT, to your account.
IP registration is optional. It is separate from publication, and a character can be public without it. Unpublishing a character does not remove an IP record that has already been created.

You can stop at the private stage, unpublish later, or continue developing the character over time. The lifecycle belongs to the creator.
