Conversations, Calls, and Global Memory
Understand how chat history, calls, and Global Memory work together and who can see the resulting information.

ImagiPortal processes your messages and call information so an AI companion can respond and continue the interaction. Your conversations are not displayed to the character's creator or to other users.
The Privacy Policy still applies to service processing, security, legal requirements, and authorized service providers.
Chat history
Each chat has its own message history. The history provides the immediate context needed for the companion to follow that conversation.
Starting a new chat creates a separate history. It does not automatically erase earlier chats.
Global Memory
Global Memory is a shorter, organized record of useful context from your interactions with one character. It can contain facts, preferences, relationship details, and ongoing topics.
One Global Memory belongs to one user-character relationship:
- Your memory is not shared with other users
- A public character's creator cannot read your memory through creator tools
- Different characters do not automatically share the same memory
- Creator analytics show activity and performance, not your conversation content
Chats and calls can contribute useful context to the same Global Memory when memory is enabled.
Start without Global Memory
When creating a new chat, you can turn Use Global Memory off. That chat will not load the shared cross-chat memory.
Turning the switch off does not delete the memory that already exists. It keeps that particular chat separate. It also does not change the character's public profile or personality.
View and edit memory
For a character you use, open its memory manager to review and edit the shared memory summary and categories. Changes affect the memory stored for your relationship with that character.
Editing Global Memory does not rewrite earlier chat messages. Deleting a chat also does not necessarily remove information already saved in the separate Global Memory. Review both controls if you want to remove something from your visible experience.
Calls and transcripts
Live voice and video calls use the character's identity and can use the same Global Memory. Call processing and transcripts may provide context for the live response and for memory updates when memory is enabled.
