Visibility and Public Information

Understand which information stays private and what becomes visible when you publish, sell, share, or register an AI character.

Updated July 25, 2026

Most personal interactions are separate from a character's public profile. However, publishing, marketplace, and IP workflows intentionally make selected information visible to other people.

Private characters

Every AI character begins as private. A private character is available only to its creator and does not appear in Arena discovery.

The creator can test its profile, visuals, voice, chats, calls, and memory before deciding whether to submit it for publication.

Public characters

After approval, a public character becomes discoverable in the Arena. Its public information can include:

  • Character name, identity, description, and tags
  • Main avatar, world, and other public media
  • Voice and available interaction options
  • Creator identity and public creator information
  • Likes, ratings, or other public engagement information

Publishing a character does not make users' conversations with it public. Each user still has separate chats and Global Memory.

Creator analytics

Creators can see combined performance information for their public characters, such as likes, interactions, user PORTI spend, trends, and royalties.

The Author Dashboard does not show the private text of another user's chats, call transcripts, or Global Memory.

Marketplace information

When an eligible public character is listed for sale, the listing can show its asking price, listing status, seller, and transaction-related information.

After a sale, the new owner receives control of the character record and the previous owner can be recorded in its ownership history. Read Marketplace before listing a character.

Permanent IP registration

Optional IP registration creates a permanent public record on the DATA Network. It can include an IP Asset identifier, ownership NFT, registration information, and public proof links.

This record is external to normal Arena visibility. Unpublishing the character does not erase a completed DATA Network record. Review the confirmation carefully and register only original work you have the right to register.

Read IP and Licensing for the complete workflow.

Before making content public

Check that public text and media do not reveal:

  • Your home address, phone number, or private email address
  • Passwords, access codes, or financial information
  • Private information about another person
  • Identifying documents or confidential material

Once information is public, other people may copy or share it outside ImagiPortal even if you later remove it from the platform.
