Personas
Chat and Memory
Understand how persona context and stored memory affect multi-turn interactions.
Updated June 12, 2026
Memory should support continuity, not create noise.
What good memory looks like
- Stable personal facts remain consistent
- Repeated preferences do not need to be reintroduced
- The persona can stay in role across multiple turns
When to revise memory
- The model starts overfitting to stale details
- A character fact is wrong or contradictory
- Public and private behavior diverge too far
Review loop
After any memory-related change, run a short chat that tests recall, tone, and recovery from ambiguous prompts.
